Job description:

Main purpose of the role:
Ensure the Bakery Department operates efficiently and effectively at all times. Provide our customers with excellent quality products and customer service.

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Previous food preparation and production experience is desirable
  • Qualified baker is a distinct advantage
  • Creative and able to embrace new recipes
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to engage with and prioritise customer needs
  • Strong attention to detail, organised and flexible
  • Ability to use own initiative and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

    Main duties:

  • Actively live Centra brand-values i.e. Proud, Energetic, Imaginative and Community-Based
  • Bake and finish products to the highest standard
  • Drive sales through instore initiatives
  • Merchandise and present the Bakery department to the highest standard at all times and in accordance with relevant store planograms and guidelines
  • Adhere to weekly stocktaking and daily waste procedures in the Bakery
  • Adhere to production planning and batch control guidelines for bakery products
  • Conduct quality and freshness checks
  • Attend relevant training as required and implement learnings in store.

J.M.Reidy's incorporates a cafe offering speciality coffee & Homemade Pastries, baked in-house daily in Mrs Reidy's Kitchen. We are recruiting a talented Baker/Pastry Chef who is seeking an exciting opportunity. Full Time or Part Time position available with attractive daytime hours 7am to 3pm.     Main Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for the following duties:

    - Assist with managing the bakery kitchen and day to operation, ensuring the quality preparation of all menu items to the highest standards

    - To consistently follow the recipes on our existing scones, bakes, pastries in the caf and implementing new menu ideas alongside the team to offer a point of difference

    - To assist with preparation of items for larger corporate events as required

    - To ensure that HACCP is implemented and documented efficiently, ensuring that all standards are maintained

    - To be efficient with all aspects of ordering and assisting with stocktakes

    - To promote positive work relationships with colleagues and teams in the wider business

    The right candidate will have a minimum of two years` experience in a similar role and will be passionate and motivated to take on an exciting opportunity where they will have the support and resources available to succeed. A talented baker with pastry experience background is essential.
